We want everyone to be able to use this site, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, a magnifier, or voice control. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA.
What we have done
- Text and controls meet the AA contrast ratios, and an automated check fails our build if a color change breaks that.
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, shows a clear focus outline, and starts with a link that skips to the content.
- Every form field has a name a screen reader announces, and errors and confirmations are announced when they appear.
- Pages use real headings, lists, tables and landmarks, so they make sense read aloud.
- Text can be enlarged to 200 percent and the layout reflows on a small screen without sideways scrolling.
- Nothing flashes, nothing moves on its own, and the site respects a reduced-motion setting.
- The room calendar, which is drawn as bars, also says in words which hours are taken.
What we know is not perfect
- Photos in a client album are described by their file name unless the photographer wrote a caption. Ask and we will describe any image for you.
- Videos we deliver do not always have captions. Tell us you need them and we will add them.
- Card payment happens on Stripe's page and approved posts are published through other companies' services; their accessibility is theirs, though we chose ones that publish their own standards.
